4TH ANNUAL MONACO CHARITY FILM FESTIVAL FILM AWARDS MAY 16TH, 2009

The 4th Monaco Charity Film Festival closed its curtains with the screening of the Closing Gala film, the World Premiere The Steam Experiment, directed by Philippe Martinez with Val Kilmer, Armand Assante, Eric Roberts & Megan Brown, USA 2009.

The award ceremony took place during a gala dinner at the Fairmont Hotel in Monaco, the same evening. The Los Angeles based Jury screened 55 films which were officially selected out of 350 originally submitted and awarded the following movies:


FEATURE AWARDS

BEST MOVIE: CARS OF THE REVOLUTION (Turkey)
The Grand Prix of the 4th Monaco Charity Film Festival goes to Cars of the Revolution (Turkey), directed by Tolga Ornek for it’s rendering of the uncompromising Triumph of the Human Will. The courage and conviction of man against all odds!

BEST ACTOR: PATRICK SWAYZE in JUMP (Austria)
The Best Actor goes to Patrick Swayze (Austria) for his inspiring portrayal and deep sense of humanity he brought to his Portrayal of Richard Pressburger in Jump.

BEST ACTRESS: MOBINA AYNEHDAR in NILOOFAR (Iran/France)
The Best Actress award goes to Mobina Aynehdar in Niloofar (Iran/ France) for her innocent look at the World and her fresh portrayal of the character.

BEST DIRECTOR: XAVIER DELUC for TOMBEE D’UNE ETOILE (France)
The Best Director award goes to Xavier Deluc for his original and bold approach to a classic subject of human relations in Tombé d’une Etoile.

BEST SCREENPLAY: CHARLIE VALENTINE (USA)
The Best Screenplay award goes to Jesse V. Johnson for his powerful and original writing and realistic portrayal of the harsh underworld in Charlie Valentine.

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: THE HIDE (Great Brittan)
The Best Cinematography award goes to George Richmond, for creating a monochromatic tone and aesthetically breathtaking image in Marek Losey’s The Hide

SPECIAL JURY PRIZE: EAGLE FLUTE (China)
The Special Jury Prize goes to Eagle Flute, directed by Tao Jiang for his simple and touching exploration of the human emotions in love and loss.

BEST MOVIE: THE BABY FORMULA, directed by Alison Reed (Canada)

SPECIAL JURY PRIZE: THE ONE MAN VILLAGE, directed by Simon El Habre (Lebanon)
The Special Jury Award goes to THE ONE MAN VILLAGE for it’s sobriety and excellence in movie making in tackling a simple subject on everyday’s life!

SPECIAL MENTION for SOLDIERS OF PEACE, directed by Tim Wise (USA)


SHORT AWARDS – STUDENT & NON-STUDENT

BEST SHORT FILM STUDENT: SHE WAS A MINER, directed by Miss Kim Nam-ri (S. Korea)

BEST SHORT FILM NON STUDENT: THANKSGIVING IN INDIA, directed by Peter Yunho Chung, (USA)

SPECIAL JURY PRIZE: TOY SOLDIER, directed by Sa Chiaravanond, (Thailand)

SPEC IAL MENTION: THE FLOWER by Miss Hye Rin Kim (US/Japan) and THE TAPE by Marc Sayegh (Lebanon)


GRAND JURY PRIZE FEATURE or SHORT for most outstanding Movie
