Georges N. Chamchoum – Program & Artistic Diretor

Award-winning Film Director & Producer born in Niger, West Africa of Lebanese origin. Entered the Film Industry in 1968 after graduating with Honors from the Conservatoire du Cinema Francais (Paris). Directed and Produced over 35 features between Europe, Africa, Middle East & the USA, most of them Award-Winning Films (Feature and Documentaries) at various International Film Festival, Cannes, Berlin, Cairo, Moscow etc…. More

Charles Domokos, Board Member, is a filmmaker whose award winning films have been shown at film festivals from Tehran to Tel Aviv, and from Monaco to Montreal to Madrid. He has worked in creative capacities as re-writer, screenwriter, director, editor and producer on educational shorts, national commercials, feature documentaries, (Co-producer of theatrically released feature “BREAD AND SALT”; Co-producer/Director/Editor of RETURN TO VIETNAM”) and independent feature narrative films (Co producer/co-editor of coming of age story, ODD BIRDS starring Michael Moriarty, premiered at Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Washington, D.C.).
Charles Domokos has also worked in the “acquisition” side of filmmaking in Business Affairs at Fox Family Cable Network and ABC/Disney Cable Network. Charles Domokos teaches screenwriting, film production, and editing at the Department of Cinema-TV at Los Angeles City College. He is also on the board of AAO, Inc. (a California non-profit corporation promoting neighborhood arts). Charles Domokos is the author of “NLE: The Cutting Edge” a GGC Media Publication. www.pompixweb.com


CLAUDIA CARNESELLA-HERZER – Board Member

Claudia Carnesella lives California. Went to school for design, business and dance. She is connected in the yoga community as an instructor and has a passion for film, television and theater. She works closely with her husband Julio Herzer on many projects in the film and television industry and has a strong passion for MCFF.Claudiacarnesella@gmail.com


JULIO HERZER – Board Member & Sponsors

Julio Herzer born in Argentina Buenos Aires, experienced entrepreneur and actor lives California. Julio has worked on television shows and films for over 30 years. He is currently working on several projects as executive producer and has a strong passion for MCFF.Julioherzer@aol.com


Jonas Hudson, Executive Director Virtual MCFF

Jonas Hudson drives new media content and platform relationships for next-gen distribution platforms including the first global“social entertainment network”.

Hudson brings with him over 15 years of entrepreneurial expertise, founding companies in the social gaming, new media and mobile space. Hudson co-founded CausePlay, LLC, a company that took social gaming to the next level by activating in-game social change. Before CausePlay, Hudson founded Global Digital Syndication (GDS), a new media syndication and production company which distributes live stream events via connected devices, creates branded entertainment properties, and distributes audio and video content via mobile devices worldwide. He also co-founded The Nickels Group (TNG), a traditional and new media company focused on mobile distribution and online music and video syndication, which was acquired by Mobile Streams (MOS), the mobile arm of Liberty Media. Previously he worked in marketing and distribution at Warner Bros and New Line Cinema.


IGOR KOKAREV, Academic/Filmmaker – Russia

Igor Kokarev, Ph.D. had been teaching in famous Russian film school VGIK in Moscow for 20 years. He was an initiator and vice-president of American/Soviet Film Initiative – the first independent non profit organization has been developed as a result of Entertainment Summit in March 1987, LA, CA. The first text book for Russian producers he published in 1991, second edition – in 2009. For his TV talk-show “Hollywood, Behind the Screen” on Channel 1, Russia, he interviewed a bunch of Hollywood filmmakers, including the producer Mark Carliner, Penny Marshal, the whole team of Walt Disney production, etc. In 1990 Igor initiated the idea of HBO production “Stalin”, participating in the project as an expert and Robert Duval personal assistant. In 1998 he started in Moscow the weekly trade paper “SK-News” as a chief editor – the first in the history of Russian film industry independent edition, and was accredited numerous times as a journalist at many international film festivals. He has been teaching for years in State University Higher school of Economics in Moscow and the last year – in Chapman University, Orange, CA. Published 15 books on film criticism, sociology of film, civil society and charity in the USA, Russia and Europe…


Lani Netter, Executive Director Special Events

Lani Netter formed The Simon Hero Foundation to explore virtues in media with a goal of producing projects that contribute to the betterment of society and humanity. Ms. Netter was involved in the creation of Carden Malibu School where she was trained in classical education and private school administration. In 1984, she met and married Gil Netter, one of Hollywood’s most prolific producers in the industry today. She became a consultant on several of her husband’s feature films for Fox 2000, including Eragon, Flicka and the Academy Award winner, The Blind Side. Lani Netter Productions recently finished principal photography work for a documentary on the ethical and moral questions surrounding the “sustainable” clothing industry, and is now in post-production. She is also an active member of the Pepperdine University Film Advisory Board offering strategy and insight into innovative programs.


Blossom Nkanga – Organizational Strategist – Information

Blossom Nkanga creates and implements organizational strategies that focus on managing the flood of raw information and data in MCFF.
Having studied in Europe and in the United States, Ms Nkanga holds a Masters degree in Business Administration- Mgt of Information Systems, (MBA-MIS), from Schiller International University. She is loyal to the MCFF and passionate about what she does.
Ms Nkanga is wide-traveled, multilingual, and speaks Spanish fluently.


JOHN REED, Technical Director

As owner of MRP, Music Room Pictures ®, Music Room Productions ®, The Music Room Publishing Group ® (ASCAP) and MRP MUSIC (BMI), John has been Producing Visual & Audio “Entertainment for an Interactive World” for Film, Television, Music, Music Videos and Interactive markets since 1975. John is a Composer, Sound Designer & multi-instrumentalist and has combined his creative talents to produce the Sound Design for Universal Pictures ® film KING KONG Eight Wonder of the World working with the approval of Peter Jackson. John has worked extensively with companies like MATTEL, HASBRO, the WWE (World Wresting Entertainment) & James Cameron on the TITANIC utilizing latest technical advancements in digital technology, and interactive media. John is also a published writer for film, technology, and music publications. John is creator and Executive Editor of HOLLYWOOD2YOU.TV Entertainment NEWS an online media outlet.

John held the position of Vice President Operations for ELIXIR ENTERTAINMENT GROUP from 1991 through 1993. John has worked as Technical Director for the MONACO CHARITY FILM FESTIVAL from 2008-2011. Attending UCLA extension Entertainment Business program, excelling in courses such as: Independent film financing & distribution, International music publishing, Legal aspects of the entertainment business, Merging technologies of digital video & audio production, Record production, Song & Talent Evaluation. John designed and built a 24 track mixing console for MUSIC ROOM STUDIOS ® and has overseen the construction of four recording studios. John has produced the Rock Group, RAWK DAWG and has released CDs in 2002 & 2004. John has worked extensively in Sales for several major communications companies in the United States including, General Dynamics, United Technologies, Memorex, U.S. West, Telex, NEC and Bellsouth Communications. John continues to consult on Entertainment Technology and interactive applications for cutting edge projects.


CIDA GONCALVES, Distributor/Acquisition

Cida Gonçalves is President of 8 STAR Entertainment, an independent distribution company of motion pictures and television programming of various genres in all media and formats. 8 STAR Entertainment manages a catalogue of award-winning feature films and documentaries worldwide, including the management of a select group of distributors’ catalogues from Brazil, UK, US and France. 8 STAR Entertainment’s marketing strategies, participation in film and programming markets as well as festivals ensure the broadest possible exposure of its products. At 8 STAR Entertainment we strive to build and maintain long-term relationships with buyers and producers worldwide.Ms. Gonçalves is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, enjoys traveling, is a published poet and a Los Angeles California State University cum laude graduate in Television and Film Media Studies, and holds an AA degree in Public Relations from Los Angeles City College. She also brings to the distribution business a background as a producer, director and talent. Previously, she worked for the Consulate General of Brazil in Los Angeles, producing and hosting a television show, and as a publicist and events manager.


DELPHINE HEE-JUNG KIM, Executive Assistant

Delphine was born in Korea but raised in France. She went to fashion School in Paris, Korea and US, she works as adesigner in LA. Passionate about movies and MCFF.


TEAM MIDDLE EAST

NICOLAS KHABBAZ – Program Executive

Born in Lebanon and raised in a family where art is a daily practice, Theater runs in the blood of every member in the family. He studied Audio-Visual Arts at Notre Dame University – Lebanon and graduated with high distinction. Since then, he has worked in television series and varieties as director / producer. In addition he has co-produced eight theater plays between 2005 and 2012. A fulltime lecturer in the Radio / TV and Film Department at Notre Dame University – Lebanon, program & artistic director and co founder of NDU Student Film Festival, one of the best recognized and accredited film festival in the region. Now Nicolas is finishing his PHD dissertation in Cinema studies entitled “Lebanese Film and Cultural Identity”. nicolaskhabbaz@hotmail.com


SAM LAHOUD – Board Member

Head of Audio Visual Department at Notre Dame University – Louaize since 2006. Scriptwriter and Director, he has written, directed and produced theater plays, short films, commercials and PSA’s. He holds a BA in Communication Arts, Radio and Television from NDU, an MA in Scriptwriting from Saint Joseph University – Beirut, and an MA in Media Studies from NDU. Since 1996 he taught Music, Photography, and Arts Education. He currently teaches courses in Scriptwriting, Directing Actors, and Directing Techniques at NDU. Founder and board member of the NDU Student Film Festival, Jury member in different local and international film festivals.


MCFF TEAM WEST AFRICA

EVITA MOUSSALLI – Executive Director

Evita Moussalli was raised and schooled in Lagos, Nigeria. She is trilingual and conversant with many cultures. She graduated from the University of Southern California, L.A. with a Bachelor degree in Architecture. Thereafter she worked in AIM Consultants Inc., Architects & Engineers in Macon Georgia, USA. Subsequently, Evita worked as a Design Architect with AIM Consultants Ltd., a subsidiary of AIM Group Ltd in Lagos. Evita’s broadcasting experience commenced while in high school where she used to audition music and assist in scheduling music and conceptualizing show & game ideas for Cool FM. In 2009, the AIM Group Board appointed Evita as COO of the two leading FM stations, namely COOL FM and WAZOBIA FM in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja (Federal Capital). Evita is the key contributor behind the creation of Wazobia FM, the first Pidgin English radio station in the whole of Africa. As a humanitarian, Evita has always been committed to community outreach and gearing the radio towards public service. She is currently launching COOL and WAZOBIA FM in Kano, Northern Nigeria by August 2011. She is also instrumental in developing the format of the upcoming FM stations comprising news, sports and talk shows by September 2011.


TEAM AUSTRALIA

James Michael Costello
Australian Cinematographer and Producer, James M. Costello’s has been working behind the camera for over a decade. his 2009 feature film debut broke new grounds in the African film industry. “Inale”, was nominated for 5 African Academy Awards & is the first musical for Nigeria and one of the new breed of quality films to come out of ‘Nollywood’ – the world’s 2nd largest film industry. James was awarded the 2011 African critics awards for Cinematography.. His 2nd feature shot in early 2010 in Nigeria and Los Angeles, is “Black Gold – The struggle for the Niger Delta”. due for cinema release in April 2012. in late 2011 he shot and co-produced his 3rd feature, “Last Flight to Abuja” directed by Obi Emelonye and is due for 2012 release also.

In the United States and Australia he has shot numerous short films and commercials and has 3 feature projects in development. He currently resides in Sydney, Australia.
